What's New with Lake Effect Bluegrass?
May 1st, 2009
Well hello friends of Lake Effect Bluegrass. It has been a while since the website
has been updated. A lot has changed over the past year or so. Gary has left the band
and we have added Karen Campolieto as our bass player. Karen is fairly new to
bluegrass music but not new to singing. She is a past member of the Spirit of Syracuse
the local chapter of the Sweet Adelines International. Karen also plays with another
local band Diamond Someday. Also new to Lake Effect Bluegrass on the Fiddle is
Andrea Asprelli. She started learning the violin at 4 years old. Andrea also plays with
Boot -n- Shorts . Andrea comes to us from Colorado via Boston Massachusetts.
With the addition of the new players and the recent equipment upgrade we hope to
complete a CD of the band in the near future. Stay tuned!!!!!
February 7th, 2010
Hello again from a cold and snowy Central New York. Several things have happened
with the band since our last update. We have been honored to have played at the
36th and 37th Bluegrass Ramble Radio Barn Dance Anniversary radio shows and at
the Bluegrass Ramble Picnic. We also played at the Kellish Farm Rolling Hills of
Bluegrass festival and a showcase for the Central New York Bluegrass Association.
We also completed a Demo CD in the fall and hope to be chosen to play at some
area bluegrass festivals in 2010. We have already scheduled several dates to play
in 2010 so check our schedule page often to see some of our upcoming shows. We
also welcome the addition of our new fiddle player Dave Willson. Dave comes to
us from Taberg NY and adds some sweet fiddle background to the band and is
an accomplished yodeller.
